SCALABLE MULTI- AND SINGLE-PORT POWER-OVER-ETHERNET SOLUTIONS

Cost-Effective, Easy-to-Deploy Power for Wireless Access Points
Power-over-Ethernet solutions from Symbol Technologies deliver operating power and data to Spectrum24 Access Points via standard Category 5 Ethernet cable, eliminating the need for 110/220 volt AC cable and power converters at each access point location. This significantly reduces cabling and outlet requirements-especially in hard-to-reach locations such as ceilings-simplifying and quickening access point deployment at lowered cost while protecting your Cat 5 and Ethernet switch investment.
Multi-Port Plug-and-Play Scalable Solution
The Power-over-Ethernet Hub installs in your wiring closet rack. Easy to access interfaces on the front panel provide ports for six Ethernet lines from your network switch, and ports for six Ethernet lines to your Spectrum24 Access Points.
Once activated, the Symbol Power-over-Ethernet Hub automatically detects power-over-Ethernet terminals including access points or other wireless clients such as web cameras. Features include:
•  Support for up to six access points. Multiple Power-over-Ethernet Hubs can be deployed to support additional access points as needed, providing easy, cost-effective scaling as you expand your wireless LAN
•  Small form factor requires minimal rack space
•  Monitoring via LED displays, including: main Ethernet Active, Ethernet not Active, and power supply
•  Advanced-Auto-Sensing discovery to detect Power-over-Ethernet enabled access points before supplying in-line power

Protection from Power Disruptions
When used with a central uninterruptible power supply (UPS), the Power-over-Ethernet Hub provides a single point of back-up power for all your access points. This feature increases your wireless LAN service reliability by ensuring continued operation in the event of a power failure.
Smart Ethernet Wiring
The Power-over-Ethernet Hub directly transfers data transmissions from Ethernet terminals on pairs 1/2 and 3/6. It acts as a normal patch panel for Ethernet connections ensuring continuous and reliable performance. Power is provided only on unused Ethernet pairs 4/5 and 7/8.
Single-Port Connector for Small Sites
Symbol also offers a Bias-T Connector, a single-port solution, providing the benefits of power-over-Ethernet for sites with fewer than six access points. The Bias-T Connector operates at a range of 330 ft./100 m, and is placed near location of your Ethernet switch.
